Costs for Participation

The cost to attend the CBL 101 and the Building a Great Relationship with Your GM Workshop is included in the annual CBLD program fee.

The CBL 101 and the Building a Great Relationship with Your GM Workshop are features of the CBLD program and there is no charge for attendance for Co-ops enrolled in the program. If your co-op's not in CBLD, you can still plan to attend! Your co-op will be invoiced $250 for the first person and $150 for each additional person who attends.

(Interested in joining CBLD? Please contact Thane Joyal for more information.)

There is a modest fee per participant in the Co-op Cafes. $60 per person covers meals and incidentals. Bring eight or more people and we'll pay for one (eight can come for $420). More are welcome! Additional financial support may be available. Contact Thane Joyal for more information. The Co-op Cafes are sponsored by National Co+op Grocers (NCG), with additional support from National Cooperative Bank (NCB).

There are a number of workshops and classes that we can individualize for your co-op as an add-on event. Contact us for more information or for a proposal on bringing a Leadership Training to your region.

Logistical Overview of Events

Timing: Each of these events is a full day -- we will provide participants with light breakfast and lunch as well as light snacks and beverages at breaks during the day.  The CBL 101 runs from 9:00-4:30.  The Cooperative Cafe runs from 9:30-4:00. Breakfast for both events is available starting at 8:30.

What to bring?: We provide a printed copy of a Reader at the session and use it as a reference document during the day. The CBL 101 Reader is available in our Library. You're welcome to download it in advance from the CDS Consulting Co-op Library. Note: you will receive a printed version on the day of the event, so please consider that before printing at home.

Resource Development: Over the course of this event we will be recording video and taking photos of the event and its participants. These videos and photos will be developed into resources for the CBLD Library and used in promotional materials for CBLD and future in-person sessions. If you would prefer not to appear in any resources or materials, please email to inform us. If we don't hear from you, we will assume that you're OK with your image being used related to CBLD programs and resources. “ The two seminars I've attended added great food for thought to our cooperative endeavors. Having a larger context in which to see our daily struggles and opportunities affords a clearer vision and can create healthier and more robust cooperatives at all levels and in all sectors. ”
