Brand Audits

Your brand is your identity, and as your co-op grows and the market changes, it is important that your brand evolves.

Your brand is what customers experience when they shop, talk and think about your co-op. The purpose of a brand audit is to uncover how your business is performing in the eyes of your customers.

If your store is experiencing stagnant or negative sales growth, loss in customers or increase in negative public perception, it is time for a brand audit. Other important times you should request a brand audit are:

  • When your competition is revamping its brand, store or expanding
  • If new competition is coming to your trade area
  • When your store is planning to remodel or expand
  • Before you update or rebrand your co-op

Brand audits include:

  • Analysis of customer data (shopper surveys, interviews, testimonies, sales trends)
  • Review of digital and printed co-op materials
  • Onsite analysis of the 7 P’s of Marketing
    • Product
    • Package
    • People
    • Place
    • Price
    • Position
    • Promotions
  • Onsite analysis of competition in the area
  • Conducting interview with key staff and analysis of roles and staff structure
  • A written report including recommendations to implement with suggested time frame
